The seventh Belgian Helidays 2005 was organised over the weekend of June 4th & 5th. Unfortunaletly the whole weekend was grey, windy and cool, with a hint of rain threatening the air. Despite these adverse weather conditions over 30.000 people registered to attend and about 110 helicopters and aircraft from eleven countries came to the show.
The organizers did a great job in attracting some nice visitors in the timespan they had. As always there were a lot of A.109s and Alouette II’s present as Bierset is there homebase. Further in the static we saw a Czech Tiger Hind, Dutch Apache, German UH-1D, Irish SA365F, American UH-60A and although being a helimeeting there were also a couple of French Mirages 2000C.
The flying wasn’t as good as it was 2 years ago but it featured some nice participants like the Chinook, the Blue Eagles, Dutch Apache with flares and a nice demo by four F-16’s. Although the flying was sometimes interrupted by the rain it was a goodie to start with.
