2013 06 23 Le Bourget

One star of the show this year was the Sukhoi Su-35 Flanker-E, which made its  Paris debut. This is the first Russian-built fighter to appear in Paris since the Su-30 Flanker crashed there in 1999. The powerful twin-engine jet fighter performed an impressive 12-minute flight demo showcasing the seemingly impossible manoeuvrability given by its multi-axis thrust-vectoring afterburning engines generating 31,900 pounds of thrust.
The Sukhoi wasn't the only Russian contributation to the show. The Yakovlev Yak-130 air force trainer was also displayed at Le Bourget. This is the first absolutely new, rather than upgraded, airplane to be built in Russia since the break-up of the USSR.
The Kamov Ka-52 Hokum-B / Alligator reconnaissance/attack helicopter was the third Russian aircraft making its premiere at Le Bourget. The Ka-52, which can destroy armoured and conventional vehicles, soldiers and air targets on and above the battlefield, is an upgraded version of the Ka-50 Hokum / Black Shark helicopter.
On the civilian side Antonov brought the An-70 and the An-148, unfortunately both left before or during the weekend.
