I wasn't able to attend the Phantom Pharewell event during the weekend held at Wittmund were the last German F-4 squadron, Jagdgeschwader 71 Richthofen, is stationed. But I was able to go on the Monday after the event to witness the departures of the static display as well as the two Phantoms of the Wehrtechnische Dienststelle 61 based at Manching. This was of course the highlight of the day with the special decorated black and orange F-4.
All departing visitors made a fly pass along the axis of the runway saying a last salute to their colleagues.
